Saturday night at Lake Tahoe saw one of the most unusual of shows at this years Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.
"A Midsummer Night-MARE" was a show unlike anything the Reno-Tahoe locals had ever seen. This spectacular production featured stars from the "Cirque du Soleil", in their first ever outdoor performance of its type, as well as stars from Broadway and the "Lido de Paris" of Paris, France and not to mention our very own local talent a former Miss Nevada, Tiffanie Story, now a local performer/tv-host and voice teacher, and TV personality and affiliate member of Bighorn Productions David Oliphant, both whom co-host the local TV show 'Reno-Tahoe Adventures', guest perfomed within the show.
The show included amazing dancers, contortionists, aerialists, stilts walkers, live music, singing and acting all performed by the most diverse and talented group of people from all around the world.
The costumes where fabulous and elaborately created for the show and each performer became a different character, telling the story, all seen through a young girl's dream (nightmare?).
The end of the show featured a rarely ever seen "On the Couch" theatrical talk show with the multitalented cast!
The show was directed by Christopher Childers of Madonna, Cirque du Soleil, and Spiderman fame again who owns a locally based prodution company 'Choozi Entertainment.'
Following up 'A Midsummer Nightmare' on Sunday night is, Chautauqua,
with William Shakespeare, Bobby Caldwell and the Reno Jazz Orchestra performing on Monday.
Capping off a wonderful 2007 festival, a very special Angora Fire benefit concert is being held on Tuesday August the 28th.
