A lawsuit challenging the Sparks City Council's decision to allow a resort casino near the Sparks Marina has been dismissed by a Washoe County district court.
Donald Young, who owns a residence adjacent to the proposed sparks Legends Resort casino, filed suit alleging that the Sparks City Council acted arbitrarily and violated the Sparks Municipal Code when it approved an application to build the multi-million legends resort casino at Sparks Marina.
Young also alleged that the Sparks City Council's decision was void because it violated Nevada's open meeting law.
In dismissing Young's lawsuit, Judge Robert Perry noted that the Sparks City Council's decision was not arbitrary and did not violate state open meeting law.
