Fire crews have halted the spread of Nevada's only active wildfire -- a blaze that has blackened about 35-hundred acres seven miles west of Carlin.
It is 60 percent contained and no longer poses a threat to the town of Carlin or to Interstate 80. The highway was closed for four hours on Sunday because of smoke and emergency vehicle traffic.
Gusty afternoon winds continue to hamper firefighters, but they
report no significant growth in the fire area.
