The members of the High Sierra Chef's Association will be holding an American Academy of Chefs Fundraiser Dinner on May 13th, 2010, at the Grand Sierra Resort. The dinner begins with a Champagne, Wine, Martini Bar and Hors d' oeuvres reception at 6pm, with dinner to follow after the grand entrance of the Top Chefs of the Sierra Nevada. All attendee's will join the Top Chefs for a spectacular American Academy of Chefs formal six course dinner on stage at the Grand Sierra Show Room.
The dinner is being prepared by Chef Jerry Iganitch and his team of Chefs from the Grand Sierra Resort and Hotel. Special guests for the evening will be renown Chef Charlie Palmer and the National Officers of the American Culinary Federation and the American Academy of Chefs.
Local chefs and the public are invited to celebrate culinary excellence with the American Academy of Chefs (AAC), the honor society of the American Culinary Federation, at this amazing evening. Seating is limited. Black tie optional.

The American Culinary Federation (ACF), recognized as "The Authority on Cooking in America" was established in 1929 and has been advancing the value and professionalism of the culinary profession for over 80 years. The ACF is the largest organization of culinarians in North America and the Western Hemisphere with over 22,000 members. ACF members include Professional Chefs and Bakers, Junior and Student Culinarians, Senior Chefs, Associate Members and Military Members. The ACF globally lauded apprenticeship-training program for culinarians and baking/pastry cooks began in 1976, and is the sole provider of apprenticeship training for the culinary industry recognized by the United States Department of Labor.

The High Sierra Chef's Association, founded in 1977, represents Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Lake Tahoe and all surrounding areas of Northern Nevada and Northeastern California. As one of 229 Chapters of the ACF nationwide, the High Sierra Chefs Association has distinguished itself many times with awards and accolades for outstanding achievement.
Among other numerous activities, the High Sierra Chefs are active with the Chef and Child Foundation and local charities. Our members play an important role as mentors to many of our high school and college culinary students.
