`Superbad' Delivers Super Debut With $31.2 Million Debut

"Superbad" was super-good at the weekend box office. The raunchy teen comedy took in $31.2 million to debut as the top movie in the country.

"Superbad" knocked off last weekend's top flick, "Rush Hour 3," which slipped to second-place with $21.8 million.

In third is the Matt Damon action thriller "The Bourne Ultimatum," followed by "The Simpsons Movie," in fourth.

The Nicole Kidman sci-fi remake "The Invasion," opened with a weak showing in fifth.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC. Final figures will be released Monday.
