Nevada Commentator Arrested

A 70-year-old radio Nevada commentator who goes by the name "Travus T. Hipp" and describes himself as "the poor hippie's Paul Harvey" has been arrested on weapon and drug charges. Hipp's real name is Chandler A. Laughlin. He's known for his libertarian views and often criticizes the government in his commentaries that run on a number of radio stations mostly on the California coast.

Authorities say Thursday's arrest was the result of a yearlong investigation into allegations he sold marijuana out of his home in Silver City, south of Virginia City.

Hipp denies he sold any drugs. He says he has a prescription card for medical marijuana from California.
