A 45-year-old Reno woman pleaded guilty to a charge of hiring an undercover detective to cut off her husband's genitals.
Margaret Lynn Wilson entered the plea Tuesday in Washoe District Court to felony conspiracy to commit murder.
Sentencing was set for Sept. 21 for Wilson, who faces up to 10 years in prison and a $5,000 fine on the charge.
At Tuesday's hearing, Wilson admitted to hiring the detective to hurt or kill her husband on July 3 because she thought he was cheating on her.
She was accused of initially trying to arrange the murder of Keith Delaney before changing her mind and asking that his genitals be cut off instead because it would be $1,000 cheaper than murder.
She also wanted the officer to torture a woman with whom she suspected her husband was having an affair, police said.
Wilson also pleaded guilty Tuesday to a felony charge of willfully endangering a child, punishable by one to six years in prison.
Police said she left her grandchildren - ages 2 and 5 - alone in her home while she left to get money to pay the detective.
The couple had been married for about a week before Wilson's arrest but had been together for three years.
Wilson was arrested last year on suspicion of arson at Delaney's trailer. She was convicted of a lesser charge and sentenced to 18 months probation.
