It may have been a close call for South Reno residents Sunday. A brush fire broke out around 4 p.m. and quickly threatened several houses. The fire erupted in an open space area near Zolezzi Lane.
Authorities say the fire took off in multiple directions, and threatened four buildings. Fortunately, fast-acting firefighters managed to knock down the blaze. It only burned about two acres.
One home's roof did catch on fire. About 50 square feet of shingles were damaged. But the fire department says the fire did not spread to the home's interior.
There's no word yet on the cause of the blaze.
