Smoke Coming from California Wildfires

The National Weather Service reports the smoke filling the Reno area is likely coming from wildfires in California. There are currently fires burning in Fresno County and Santa Barbara County.

The Tar Fire, in Fresno County, is 30% contained and has burned 5,170 acres. The Colby Fire, in Tehama County, is 100 contained and burned 270 acres.

The Zaca Fire, burning down south in Santa Barbara County, is 44% contained having burned 94,522 acres. Containment on that fire is expected on September 7th.
