Two University of Nevada, Reno football players were kicked off the team Monday following their weekend arrests on felony drug charges.
Junior defensive lineman Brenton Kendrick and sophomore cornerback Steven Murphy were among those arrested Friday night in downtown Reno following an undercover investigation by the regional Street Enforcement Team, officials said.
Coach Chris Ault in December implemented a zero tolerance policy for players who are arrested. Under that policy, any player arrested on a felony charge is immediately kicked off the team.
"We will move on," Ault said.
Kendrick, 20, was booked on suspicion of sale and possession of cocaine, conspiracy and obstructing and resisting an officer.
Murphy, 19, was arrested on suspicion of sale of cocaine, conspiracy and obstructing and resisting an officer.
