MINDEN, Nev. (AP) - A Minden man has been arrested in a new case a month after he was found guilty of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in the July 2009 death of a friend.
According to court documents, Jerett McAlister was arrested Monday at his home after his probation officer was tipped off that he was selling methamphetamine.
Probation officer Doug Swalm says the 26-year-old McAlister admitted smoking meth.
Prosecutors say McAlister faces new charges after he reportedly tested positive for meth, a probation violation.
Last month, McAlister was sentenced to two years of probation for the rollover that killed 22-year-old Christopher Medina of Gardnerville.
The judge sentenced McAlister to about six months in jail but suspended the term as long as McAlister didn't violate probation.

How can a JUDGE in any court let a man go w/o serving any time after a guilty conviction in an auto accident. I am seeing this type of response from the legal sytem in rape, drug abuse, assault and other cases across the country, who is getting paid off here?
Who is the judge who determined that only probation was a fitting sentence?
