A local celebrity and Deputy District Attorney has died.

35 year old Cheryl Kosewicz was found dead in her home on Friday just two months after her boyfriend took his own life.

Kosewicz was working as a Deputy District Attorney in Reno focusing on the prosecution of sexual abuse cases.

Officials told Kolo-8, the death is believed to be a suicide but is still under investigation.

On the border fence, I don't know but I watch KOLO 8 news very regular and it just seems to me that the gangs around here and Carson City are 80 to 90% mexican or other emagrints. They can get away with things up here they can't south of the border. I think we need the fence up.

Darren Mack's family should be put out of businees and run out of town as his mother was an integral part of what happened to Charla.Darren should never see life outside prison walls Washoe County voters make sure to vote D.A.Gammit out of office to help put and end to the "good old boys" system of justice.

I only know of Cheryl from the CBS show Pirate Master. I guess I was one of few that liked the show. Its sad to hear that ones life has ended, for any reasosn. My reason for commenting here is to say to Greg from Las Vegas, why would you need to say the say you said? There is no reason to trample on one who is dead. And to that radio station you should be ashamed. Thats just wrong.

I was shocked and saddened when I learned of Cheryl's death today. Although I had not been in touch with Cheryl or her family since our rodeo days, I do remember what great people they were and you will always be a part of that time for me. My heart goes out to Ted, Ann, Mike and the rest of her family. God Bless you all.

I was engaged to Cheryl for nearly a year. She was a very tough young lady with a strong personality. I knew her very well. She will be missed by many including myself. My deepest sympathy to Ted, Ann and Mike.

Cheryl and I were high school classmates and anyone who knew her, knew what a wonderful person she was. We are sad and will miss you forever Cheryl.

Until her death, the only images most of us had of her were of a highly masculine, outspoken-to-a-fault troublemaker. I think her views on her relationship with Joe Don and Ben would have been interesting to hear. It would also have been neat to hear her take on Louie's "tail-of-the-snake" tag. Sadly, if there is a reunion show, that will never happen and what few fans are left can only speculate about it.

I am shocked, and sad. I was so proud to see her on Pirate Master and even prouder when I found out she was a DA here in Reno. We need more people like her in the world. Its sad she had to leave so soon....

I first heard about the story, while driving from Washington back to Nevada. Of course the morning DJ's made fun of this lady, because of the failed pirate show. At the end of their radio bit they played a sound effect of a gun going off. I thought it was somewhat funny, you know, that dark humor we hear everyday. If you knew her, not funny. But it makes you think what was going on in her life, to want her to commit suicide. Her boyfriend kills himself, she goes on a stupid show that fails, and then she kills herself? What gives?

Cheryl was an amazing person, she was fun, generous, helpful, and had a great heart. She will be missed by all of us who knew her.

How very sad. Living only 80 miles from Reno, my family felt Cheryl was "our" player, We we're sorry to see her leave the show & now we are saddened by her death. Sympathies to all who knew her.

Cheryl was my neighbor and although I did not know her very well, the whole situation is just tragic. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I also was appaled by the comment from Grand Coulee and just hope and pray that that person never has to experience a tragedy such as this one.

CHERYL WAS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON AND MADE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON MANY PEOPLES LIVES, MINE INCLUDED. LAS NIGHT I READ THE COMMENT FROM THE GRAND COULEE PERSON AND I WAS AMAZED THAT SOMEONE COULD BE THAT UGLY INSIDE TO POST A COMMENT AS SICK AS THAT AT A TIME WHEN SO MANY PEOPLES HEARTS ARE BROKEN AND I FEEL SORRY FOR THE PERSON THAT WROTE WHAT THEY DID BECAUSE IT MOST BE A HORRIBLE THING TO LIVE WITH THAT MUCH JEALOUSY IN YOUR HEART. CHERYL WILL BE MISSED GREATLY.

I didn't know Cheryl but I knew her parents. I am thinking of them and feeling their loss.
