Water Again Flowing Freely To Stead

The taps are flowing again throughout Stead.

That means outdoor watering restrictions have been lifted after Truckee Meadows Water Authority crews repaired two leaks in a water main.

The problem began Saturday morning and the leaking water main was located Sunday afternoon beneath an embankment along U.S. 395 between the Stead and Red Rock exits.

Residential customers with odd addresses who normally would have watered their lawns on Sunday were allowed to water on Monday after the repairs.

The normal twice-a-week watering schedule resumed on Tuesday with businesses allowed to water outside. Homes with even-numbered addresses can water on Wednesday.
