A 50-acre wildfire along Interstate 80 about 20 miles east of Truckee was contained.
Fire officials said firefighters spent Saturday mopping up the site near Floriston. The fire was contained overnight.
No major injuries were reported, and no homes were ever threatened. The interstate remained open throughout the blaze that broke out Friday afternoon.
Fanned by high winds, the fire burned heavy timber in steep terrain just north of I-80.
Six air tankers and four helicopters joined more than 200 firefighters in the battle against the fire.
Its cause remained under investigation Saturday.
