The man accused of killing Brianna Denison, and raping two other women may have been following the details of this case long before his arrest.

In a court appearance Thursday, Washoe County prosecutors allege that James Biela's home computer had thousands of search hits on it for his alleged victim.

Bela's public defenders have filed a number of motions with the court in order to throw out evidence that they feel is unfair. The attorneys are hoping to limit the number of graphic photos and video that are shown to the jury during the trial, saying they will create prejudice against the defendant.

They also discussed evidence being used in the case that we haven't heard about until now. Prosecutors say a search of three home computers at James Biela's residence showed thousands of Internet search hits for key words such as: "brianna denison," "abduction," "choke," "strangle," "fetish," and "thongs." There was also evidence of searches on pornographic websites, such as "slutty school bus" and "real drunk girls." Public defenders are hoping to keep this evidence away from the jury.

Attorneys also discussed extra security that could be added to the upcoming May trial, including metal detectors installed outside of the courtroom to ensure the safety of the defendant.

The judge made no decisions yet, but has plans for several more meetings before the trial begins. On the table are also motions to change the venue of the trial, get rid of the intent to seek the death penalty punishment, as well as a motion to destroy some DNA evidence. The next hearing is scheduled for March 31st at 10:00 a.m..

I believe that he shared a home. Do they know for certain that it was him looking at Brianna stuff online? And even if it was him looking at it, it doesn't prove anything. A good percentage of people in Reno followed this case in great detail. If they looked at any of of our computers her name would come up a lot of times. It's just the prosecution trying to make something out of nothing.

They should do like my grandma used to say, "cut him off, slicker than a button". If people were made to TRULY pay for their crimes as a deterrent, there would be much less crime. Criminals think, "oh gee, I'll spend 2 years in jail for killing this guy". Big f'ing deal.
