RENO, Nev. (AP) - Two Nevada men have been charged in the shooting deaths of five wild horses last fall.

A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Reno charges 44-year-old Todd Davis and 36-year-old Joshua Keathley with harassing and causing the horses' death on Nov. 28 in the Buckhorn Horse Management Area in northern Washoe County.

Davis and Keathley are both from Lovelock.

They are scheduled to make initial appearances on the charges April 27. If convicted, they could face up a year in prison and a $100,000 fine.

The Special Agent with BLM did a great job on this case. The two people responsible for this senseless crime will be punished, but I don't think it will be a year in jail or $100,000.00. That just won't happen. Most of these crimes go unsolved, and for that reason, I take my hat off to the Investigator. GOOD JOB! Rich

Punishment doesn't even come close to fitting the crime. No surprise though. These two are down right murderers and no other word's can be used to describe them. What? Did these horses threaten them or something? Kind of like a wild bear or mountain lion? Laughable! These two make me sick and are more likely the type that have no problem killing anything or anybody that can not defend themselves. Weak, gutless, worthless individuals. Hope they get the maximum possible and more (karma), in the long run.

I am actually suprised that the BLM isn't paying their legal fees.
