Members of the Nevada Army Guard 1/221st Calvary are back home tonight after serving a year in Iraq.
About 110 Nevada soldiers are back in the Silver State.
Most returned to the Las Vegas area today but 14 arrived here in reno.
The soldiers bus arrived with with a police escort and as soon as the men disembarked, it was an emotional homecoming.
There was hug after hug, it was the moment everyone had waited for.
It was like a dream, wifes and children alike had waited so long to see their fathers, and today they were reunited.
Since last july, the men traveled more than a million miles in Iraq, providing convoy security.
They were recognized in a special ceremony and given many accalades.
The men were not only grateful to be home, but for their safety. One soldier exclaimed, "We all made it!"
There are still about 200 Nevada National Guard members serving in Iraq and Southwest Asia.
