Hoops and music highlighted a fun-filled fundraiser in Downtown Reno Saturday afternoon.
The atmosphere was fantastic, and everyone was having a good time. There were lots of activities to keep them busy, and it all benefitted a great cause.
A live band was one of many attractions at the Hoopin' It on the River on Center Street. The festivities included a dunk tank, gold fish game and basketball. But this wan't your ordinary game of hoops.
Twenty-five people had the opportunity to sink a shot in the Truckee River for $10,000.
It seemed like everyone had a different reason for stopping by the event.
All of the proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a program that touches particularly close for many people.
One of the sponsors tells KOLO 8, organizers raised around $5,000 - a figure that was originally their goal.
