Nevada Democrats made some gains but Republicans continued to hold a thin lead in statewide voter registration totals for May.
As of the end of May, 358,321 Republicans had registered to vote versus 348,190 Democrats. Nonpartisan registration stood at 129,913.
The total number of registered voters stood at 866,137, up about 9,500 from a month earlier.
Secretary of State Dean Heller says factors in the voter registration gains include Nevada's status as a battleground state in the presidential race plus many contentious initiative petitions.
