Some Reno businesses were booming on Super Bowl Sunday. "Wings and chips are probably the only additional thing we bought," Santina Casey, who is hosting a small gathering, said.
Paul Bzievzic of Scolari's said avocados for guacamole are big sellers.
It's the busiest day of the year at Pizza Plus in West Reno, according to the manager. Mike Derosa said three to four times as many pizzas would be made as a typical busy weekend.
Derosa said employees are ready for half-time. "We expect a little bit of a rush at that time."
Bully's sports bar featured Super Bowl specials. General Manager Grant Geissler says Super Bowl Sunday is one of the busiest days of the year, with wings and beer in high demand.
