The Hungry Valley Fire that started Saturday afternoon near Spanish Springs is now 100% contained. About 500 acres burned, and investigators believe the fire was human-caused.
Crews responded to reports of a brush fire around 4:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Spanish Springs in the area of Eagle Canyon Drive. Eagle Canyon Drive was closed at Calle De Plata.
Air traffic units were called in to assist with controlling the fire.
Thanks to an aggressive air attack, a fire official says homes were protected and saved in the area.
