SPARKS, NV - Sparks police are looking for at least two people involved in a stabbing Friday night.

It happened on Merchant Street in Sparks, near Rock and Oddie. A teenage boy was walking with a friend, when at least two people stopped in a car and started arguing with him. One of them took out a knife and stabbed him.

He hasn't given a good description of the attackers to police, but investigators say the wounds are not life-threatening.

A kid got stabbed simply for walking down a street. What does this tell our community? Regardless of how minimal the threat was, a youth got stabbed, could have possibly died. We keep hearing the violence in our streets with youth getting shot, stabbed and killed but what is the city, what are community leaders doing about the problem? I detest the way media acts when it comes to our gang problem.. Isn't there someone out there, who cares enough to make a difference? It just seems like our local media is just as uninterested about this serious problem as is our city officials. What we need to do is vote this fools out and bring some new ones in. I can't believe that our people are dying, hurting and crying and we continue to ignore the plea. What the heck is wrong with us? Really?
