After seven months of stable sales, existing home sales are up in Washoe County, according to Ken Amundson of the Reno-Sparks Association of Realtors.
More than four-hundred existing homes were sold in Washoe County in December. Amundson says overall last year homes sales were up 45% over the previous year.
The now extended credit for certain buyers was to expire in November. "They were confident these homes they purchased were important to buy without the tax credit." Amundson said of the December sales.
Amundson said there's now not much inventory left in the lower price range, but said there is still ample inventory of more expensive homes.
The median price of a home is now about $180-thousand.
