The Angora Fire is now 85 percent contained and firefighters are hoping for full containment by Tuesday.
The remaining crews are mopping up hot spots on the fire, which has burned 3,100 acres and destroyed more than 250 homes.
Road blocks will be lifted Sunday evening at the intersection of Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Sawmill Road, and Upper Truckee Road.
Angora Ridge Road will continue to be closed to all traffic.
A National Fire Prevention Team will arrive Monday to help local agencies.
The cost of fighting the fire is almost $11 million.
