Alcohol was a factor in a weekend accident near Pyramid Lake that left one person dead and four injured, authorities said.

Pyramid Lake Police Chief Steven Adams said the accident on Nevada 446 occurred around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the driver of an SUV apparently lost control of the vehicle and overcorrected.

The vehicle rolled several times and all five people were ejected.

"None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was definitely a factor," Adams said.

The four injured occupants were taken to Washoe Medical Center and were listed in serious but stable condition, Adams said.
