Due to the hurried fire evacuations at South Lake Tahoe, shelters have been established at separate locations to house victims of the fire and their pets.
The Rufus Allen Recreation Center is located at 1180 Rufus Allen Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe. This is where refugees from the fire are being taken.
Headed by Susan Paul, the Pet Network Evacuation Shelter located on 401 Village Boulevard in Incline Village is housing any domestic animals owned by victims of the blaze.
Also, one business in Reno has started a Blanket and Food Drive to help South Lake Tahoe Residents. You may drop off blankets and supplies starting Monday morning at Biogreen. They are located at 3785 Baker Lane, Suite 202. Please call Biogreen at (775) 329-7272.
