On Sunday afternoon, fire crews responded to a call of a brush fire burning in Northwest Reno at 240 Mae Anne Avenue.
The flames are now burning west of West McCarran between Mae Anne Avenue and Fourth Street.
Four hand crews are on scene, and two helicopters are dropping flame retardant on the fire from above.
Agencies have formed a Unified Command, including City of Reno, Sierra Protection District, US Forestry Service, Nevada Division of Forestry, with Washoe County Sheriff's Office performing the law enforcement work associated with the fire.
