RENO, NV - A Reno man is on life support after sustaining serious injuries in a rollover accident on northbound US 395 near the Red Rock interchange around 11:15 Saturday night.

24-year-old Darin M. Dunn has been declared brain dead, but he is on life support at Renown Medical Center. His wife Melissa was also involved in the accident and suffered minor injuries. She was released from Renown Sunday.

The couple was driving their 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup when the truck drifted onto the shoulder of the highway, over-corrected, and rolled-over. Because of heavy fog, Care Flight was unable to transport the couple, and they were taken to Renown by a ground ambulance.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.

Allen says shortly after the accident, a 2008 silver Toyota pickup drove over road flares at the crash scene. That driver, 32-year-old Christopher B. Murdoch of Reno, was arrested for driving under the influence.

NHP officers want to remind drivers of the importance of wearing seat belts while driving.

Anyone with additional information on this accident should contact Trooper Stapledon of the Major Accident Investigation Team at 689-4680 regarding case # NHP-1001091229.
