RENO, NV - Layoffs are expected within the Reno Fire Department, possibly as early as Friday.
There's still a big budget shortfall in the city of Reno. Interim Chief Tim Alameda told us that he's meeting with firefighters in the morning to discuss the situation, and then the city council will meet in the afternoon to go over possibilities.
There also could be layoffs in other departments, depending on what the council works out.
