A Reno couple has been arrested for suspected child abuse after their infant son was hospitalized with suspicious injuries, police said.
Luis Villa, 23, and his wife, Eloisa Ramos, 19, were arrested Wednesday after an investigation prompted by calls from hospital personnel, authorities said.
Investigators said the 2-month old boy was injured while the couple was fighting. Police were called after Ramos took the child to Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
The extend of the baby's injuries were not revealed because of medical privacy laws.
Villa was booked into jail on two counts of suspicion of child abuse resulting in substantial bodily harm. Bail was set at $7,700.
Ramos was booked on suspicion of a gross misdemeanor of child abuse, child neglect and child endangerment. Her bail was set at $1,500, authorities said.
