SPARKS, NV - A 24-year-old woman was arrested Sunday afternoon after Washoe County Deputies say she tried to force herself into a Spanish Springs home holding a handgun.

According to Sheriff’s office, the suspect, Kelly Marie Mehserle, had been passing out fliers for “future snow removal” in the area of Pah Rah Drive and Evening Star Drive. At one home, she pulled out a handgun and tried to force herself inside. The resident pushed her outside and called 911.

Deputies responded to the area and were able to arrest Mehserle with minutes. She was booked into the Washoe County Jail charged with Burglary with the Use of a Deadly Weapon and Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. Bail is set at $15,000.

Neighbors who witnessed this event say there were two males seen running from the area at the time of the offense. Deputies are asking anyone with information regarding this crime to please call Detectives at 328-3320 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.

I'd like to see public lynching come back. Just look at all the crime that's going on around here! Start lynching these people and it'll save a lot of money as the lawyers and judges won't be able to play it for the racket that it is. Plus it'll send a powerful message out as a deterrent!

it doesnt sound to me like there is enough proof to make a conviction. did they find the gun? and if she had just attempted to commit robbery, would she just be hanging around down the street in plain sight? if this truely is a case of mistaken identity i hope the "victim" realizes this and says so in court. we're talking about a long prison term for a potentially innocent person

this is a case of mis identification, I hope the victim/witnesses, and officers involved think seriously before proceeding with this case on a bad id. Has anyone looked for the actual criminal? They certainly haven't arrested him yet
