SPARKS (AP) - A Washoe district judge says the Sparks City Council must release the investigative report it ordered on City Attorney Chet Adams.
Judge Steven Kosach says the Adams report is a matter of public interest, ruling in favor of a lawsuit filed by the Reno Gazette-Journal against the city after it refused to make the report public.
The report looks at allegations of misconduct by Adams.
It was compiled by a private investigator hired by the council. It cost the city $35,000 and was made confidential by the council.
Kosach ruled that the names of nonpublic officials mentioned in the investigative report should be redacted before the report is made public.
Sparks spokesman Adam Mayberry said the city will follow the judge's order.
