RENO, NV - Seventeen men, most of them Mexican nationals, now face federal drug charges and long prison terms after agents arrested them in Reno and Sparks last month in connection with a major drug trafficking case.

A federal grand jury of the U.S. District Court of Nevada this week charged the 17 with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of large amounts of heroin and cocaine in the Reno area

On Nov. 20, agents seized three pounds of heroin, 13 ounces of cocaine, and approximately $45,000 in U.S. Currency at two homes in Reno and in Sparks.

If convicted, the defendants face up to 40 years in prison and fines of up to $2,000,000.

In response to Jose, the reason the people who were arrested were referred to as "Mexican nationals" was to give reference to the area in which the drug traffickers were from, and from where the drugs came from. Not to blame Mexicans for everything. If they were from Europe, then they most likely would have been referred to as that. That being said, I.C.E does not allow any illegal immigrants to reside in our country. Illegal immigrants are illegal, and should all be deported. They are disgracing the law of our country, and they are a drain on our country. The small amount of money generated by the minimum wage work that is done by illegal immigrants is dwarfed by the resources spent to combat immigrants from entering the country. Also, your poor spelling and grammar only adds to the fact that the majority of illegals remain uneducated and do not contribute to the better interests of America.

If you come from the south of mexico and loock like mexican you get blame for everything even for speaking spanish and the white people so called AMERICANS dont know how to see if they come from EL SALVADOR # 1 on gangs related country, GUATEMALA, NICARAGUA, ECT..ECT..so on so fourth, just becuse they speack like mexicans they are,,,, well let me tell you americans,,, to be a bad person or to do bad things theres no need of colors,race,religion or what ever excuse a person uses to do any tipe of crime....... Just for those who allways think that a mexican gets everything free you are totally wrong # 1 legal or illegal every time buys food or shops at any store nation wide pays taxes # 2 illigal do not recibe any goverment help such as unemployment or s.s. benifets. # 3 illigal workers they get social security of there pay checks every pay period. # 4 those illigal drug delers,mad killers, lazzy ones they keep been here because our beutiful so call goverment called I.C.E.lets them
