CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A state judge in Carson City has scheduled a Jan. 8 hearing for arguments challenging the description of a proposed ballot initiative that seeks to define a person and override Nevada's abortion laws.
The Nevada "personhood" initiative seeks to amend the state constitution by defining a person and extending due process rights to "everyone possessing a human genome" from the beginning of biological development through end of life.
Three plaintiffs being represented by lawyers for Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union are challenging the proposal on grounds the description of its effect is vague and that it violates a state law limiting referendum questions to a single subject.
Depending on the outcome of the legal challenge, initiative backers would need to gather about 97,000 signatures to qualify for the November 2010 ballot.

I think this is kinda pushing the envelope, so to speak, to lump genomic signatures so your religion can suffer a windfall of muling, puking soulettes competing for oxygen and water. We have enough idiots. What we need is more IQ, not personhoods crawling around making up words.
"Personhood" is a jam-job of a word. Take something you know and stick something else onto it in order to suit your particular purpose. If calling a mass of cells a person is the goal, then I must inquire as to your reason for asking me to accept a lie. The sun is clearly not the moon, Nevada. I think you know this. Just one dumb question and I'll let you getback to whatever you were doing...how can a person die before he/she is born? Then had it life? How so? Where? How many breaths did it draw? Or was its life a figment, a hopeful dream, or possibility, an ephemeral arrangement of cells that entered and exited a living person's body?
