Despite the rain and the lightning on Saturday afternoon, cancer survivors and supporters laced up their sneakers and hit the track at Reed High School, for the 2007 Relay for Life.
Fighting cancer isn’t easy, not even when you’re only walking to raise money to help in the fight against cancer.
This year’s Relay for life event began Saturday at noon. By late afternoon, thunder roared overhead and rail pelted participants.
But they kept walking, and they’ll keep going until noon on Sunday. The walkers raised money by getting sponsors for their efforts. Relay for Life also held a candlelight vigil at midnight on Saturday for the people who have survived, and for those who were lost to the disease.
