As of six o'clock Saturday morning, the Vista Brush Fire in Spanish Springs is 100% contained.
Fire crews kept an eye on the area overnight to make sure that the stubborn fire didn't creep back up.
They will continue to keep a close watch on the marshy field over the next few days, to make sure the flames stay down.
This was a particularly difficult fire to get at because of the soft wet ground which was covered by tinder-like fuels.
In addition the soft ground gives the fire a unique ability to burn underground, then pop up again in another area.
Fire officials are estimating that the blaze claimed somewhere between 50 and 80 acres.
