Authorities continued searching Monday for a 54-year-old man who fell off a sailboat on Lake Tahoe.
The name of the South Lake Tahoe man wasn't immediately released.
The man was apparently teaching three others on the boat how to sail when he fell into the water late Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Crews searched well after dark without success before the effort was suspended for the night. Searchers resumed the effort early Monday.
Authorities said two life vests were thrown to the man when he fell into the 42-degree water at a depth of 12 to 24 feet. His daughter also jumped into the lake to try to save him, without success.
The difficulty of the search was heightened by 10- to 20-mph winds that kicked up Sunday afternoon, creating waves that hampered visibility for rescue crews.
