Before the drop that letter in the mail this week, you'd better double-check the postage.
As of Monday, May 14th, First Class rates increase from 39 cents to 41 cents. Any mail deposited into mail boxes on Sunday, May 13th will be expected to carry the new rate.
Officials say they do not expect a rash of returns due to insufficient postage. And to avoid problems with future rates increases, post offices are now offering the Forever Stamp at 41 cents each. These stamps will remain valid regardless of rate increases.
