The Nevada State Senate took time out today to honor KOLO 8's Tad Dunbar. Tad is retiring in July after close to 50 years in the broadcast business, 38 of that has been right here at KOLO-TV.
In fact, Dunbar was almost treated like royalty. He was given a special proclamation by the senate, the first time a broadcast journalist has been so honored in the history of the state.
And several senators had a a lot of say about him, most of it complimentary. In fact, there was even some good natured ribbing about a man many of them have known for years. Probably the best compliment came from Senator Randolph Townsend, who said Dunbar is the Walter Cronkite of our area.
