The former manager of a Lake Tahoe Casino’s Race and Sports Book has been sentenced for stealing money from the casino where he worked.

43-year-old Ronald Tipton was given two years probation, was ordered to stay away from all types of gambling. Tipton had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit grand theft…and admitted to stealing more than $21,000 from the Lakeside Inn and Casino in Stateline.

He says he cashed unpaid sports book tickets that were facing expiration. Tipton now lives in Arizona, and says the crimes stemmed from a gambling problem that he is getting help for. Tipton says he will pay the casino back.
