Bill Richarson in Carson City

With Nevada’s Democratic caucus second only to Iowa’s, the race for the party’s nomination is well underway. Several big name democratic presidential candidates were in Northern Neavada on Sunday.

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson gave a campaign speech in Carson City. Richardson delivered the keynote address at the Carson City Democrats’ Jefferson-Jackson dinner. Richardson says, if elected, getting American troops out of Iraq will be a priority. He also emphasized energy independence and his ties to the Western US.

Richarson says the federal government isn’t fully funding the no child left behind act. That is a sentiment Hillary Clinton expresses as well during her visit to Reno. Monday morning Richardson met supporters at Comma Coffee in Carson City at 8:30.
