RENO, NV - Reno police say a man who may have tried to kill his wife is in custody.

Detectives believe Jaime Adame beat and strangled his wife at their home in Stead Wednesday night, then slashed her throat with a knife. She escaped and is expected to be okay, but Adame drove off with their children, a three-year-old girl and five-year-old boy.

Adame had already been arrested once, accused of attacking his wife two months ago. Thursday night, he was found hiding in a shed in Sun Valley by Washoe County sheriff's deputies. The children were also found, and police say they are safe.
