Accused rapist and kidnapper Phillip Garrido has written another letter to express his apologies for everything that has taken place and admits he has a problem.

This is his third letter, written from his jail cell, and sent to a KCRA anchor whom he contacted shortly after his initial arrest in the Jaycee Lee Dugard case.

KCRA says the handwritten letter does address multiple issues, but the station declined to release more details.

"We are not releasing the entire letter at this time based on consultations with our attorneys," said Anzio Williams, news director at KCRA. "We will tell the story and reference the letter."

Jaycee was allegedly held captive for 18 years in Garrido's backyard in Contra Costa County, California. The convicted rapist is also believed to have fathered two children with her.

According to KCRA, in his latest letter, Garrido writes, "First off I would like to apologize to every human being for what has taken place." He adds that he is sorry ""for what has taken place" and referenced "ending a sexual problem believed to be impossible."

The letter continues, "People all over the world are hearing testimony that through the spirit of Christ a mental process took place ending a sexual problem believed to be impossible."

His attorney, Public Defender Susan Gellman, says, "Mr. Garrido is expressing genuine remorse. He would like people to consider the fact that he's a changed man and his story is best told all at one time, instead of in pieces. He presents obvious issues concerning whether or not he is competent to be a defendant, and we are looking into that."

Meanwhile, Garrido remains jailed, in custody at the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville. Both he and his wife, Nancy, who is charged along with him, are awaiting trial. Both have pleaded not guilty.

In a previous letter, sent back in September also to KCRA, Garrido claimed Dugard's "free speech rights are being violated." At that time, the attorney for Dugard, McGregor Scott, did not comment on that allegation. He does say, however, that Dugard will work with law enforcement officials to ensure Garrido is held accountable for everything he did.

If he is so sorry why doesn't he plead quilty to all the charges against him. He is not sorry at all. He only cares about himself

This man is a piece of crap. There should be no mercy for him or his wife. We are truly a failing society if they are allowed to escape justice. There is nothing that he could ever write that should be published. His crime is unforgivable. I believe that when he kidnapped that little girl he gave up any right to apology or consideration. Who cares if he is sorry, to hell with him.

I won't believe that he really felt sorry for what he did. That's just another deception like he did to the parole officer(s) in the past. He should be kept in the cell and gets help there!
