Two Dead in Carson City Shootings

Carson City sheriff investigators say a state employee was shot to death by her ex-husband, who then killed himself in the parking lot outside a convenience store.

Authorities say 51-year-old Richard Clements confronted his ex-wife in a parking lot shortly before 11 a-m yesterday and shot her in the back. Authorities say after 37-year-old Regina Clements fell, he shot her in the head before killing himself with a single shot to the face.

Officers recovered a .357 magnum pistol at Richard Clements' feet.

Dozens of people witnessed the shooting near the intersection of
U.S. 395 and College Parkway.

Investigators say the couple had divorced three months ago. They leave behind a 12-year-old daughter.
