2 Arrested for DUI in Crash North of Reno

Two people were arrested early Monday for driving under the influence following a head-on crash on U.S. 395 north of Reno.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Kathleen May Ray was heading south in the northbound lanes when her car slammed into a pickup driven by 21-year-old Saul Villareal near the Golden Valley interchange.

The patrol says Ray was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and is facing charges of first-offense DUI and driving the wrong way on a highway.

Officers say Villareal escaped serious injury and was arrested for second-offense DUI and driving on a revoke license.

The 2:30 am accident closed the highway for about two hours
