Dorothy Nash Holmes resigns from Department of Corrections

Former Washoe County District Attorney Dorothy Nash Holmes is leaving her post as deputy director of programs in the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Her departure is effective one week from today.

Holmes has held her position since December of 2005 when the director of programs post was created by then prison director Jackie Crawford.

Holmes was in charge of developing programs ranging from drug and alcohol treatment, geriatric care for aging inmates and educational and vocational programs for inmates.

She served four years as Washoe County DA and then was a high-ranking deputy under former Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa before she took the corrections job.
