The City of Reno has announced its street projects for the coming summer.
Road reconstruction has already started near the veterans’ hospital on Taylor street. Other streets in the area -- Including Thoma, Cheney, Burns and Wonder -- will also be getting new sidewalks and gutters.
Reno city employee Chris Good says reconstruction near the VA Hospital will continue until the beginning of summer. Crews will then move to Neil Road between McCarran and Peckham.
Good says street improvement projects are selected 2 years before actual construction begins.
Next year streets in southwest Reno, near Brown Elementary School, will undergo maintenance. In 2009, Stead neighborhoods are targeted.
