Students at Reno's McQueen High School are forming a gay-straight alliance.
It's the second school in Washoe County to join a network of clubs across the country to help promote tolerance on campuses.
Galena High School's Gay-Straight Student Alliance began in spring of 2002. McQueen's group is in the process of drafting bylaws and getting school approval.
The New York City-based Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network says the groups in Northern Nevada join about 2,100 Gay-Straight Alliances or similar organizations in secondary schools nationwide.
Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network online records show seven Las Vegas-area high schools have alliances although a spokeswoman said that number could be higher because not all clubs register nationally.
