An assistant baseball coach at Sparks High School was fired after his arrest on suspicion of possessing stolen property and a controlled substance.
Kristian Bardot, 26, was booked Monday night into the Washoe County Jail after officers said they found stolen construction tools, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the suspect's truck.
Police said Bardot later admitted to being present when a phone booth was stolen from a Reno apartment complex. The booth turned up Monday night in the backyard of his Sparks home, they said.
The suspect was arrested at a Sparks casino where he was gambling.
Bardot served only as an assistant coach and held no other positions with the Washoe County School District, district spokesman Steve Mulvenon said.
Bardot was in his first season as an assistant coach and had not served at any other school.
