If you think terrorists groups live only in Middle Eastern lands, one man in Reno would disagree with you. Tom Martinez is a former member of the ultra-violent Neo-Nazi white supremacist group known as: “The Order.”

His story has been made into a full length feature film. That's because it’s not only interesting *how* Tom Martinez became a member of racists groups, but *how* he ultimately got out.

“If you used the "N" word you weren't afraid to use it because they thought just like you,” says Martinez.

Martinez says he wasn't born a racist, but after living in a poor neighborhood in Philadelphia, getting beaten up by blacks in high school and ultimately dropping out, he was looking for a scapegoat. He says he found a group that would provide it for him.

“And here's this very articulate handsome man on the Tom Snyder show one o'clock in the morning, talking about against affirmative action, against quotas, against forced busing,” says Martinez.

Martinez says that man was KKK Leader David Duke. But, the person who would influence Martinez most was this man Robert Mathews. A leader of white supremacist group called, "The Order" he took Martinez under his wing and told him of the group's master plan.

“Operating in cells, from bank robberies, armed car robberies, to bombs and assassinations,” says Martinez.

Another man, also from “The Order”, Bruce Pierce, would be convicted of killing liberal radio talk show host Alan Berg in the 1980s. Anyone who threatened "The Order" was dealt with, and when Martinez was arrested for using a counterfeit ten dollar bill made by the group he knew he had to make a decision.

Martinez says, “When a man I grew up in Philadelphia went out there and buried a body of a man they thought was a rat and I said, "Jimmy, if you were told to kill me by Bob and the members of the group would you kill me?"

He said, "For white power, definitely."

For three months Martinez says he worked undercover for the feds, who with his help nearly captured Robert Matthews. But his information helped save civil rights attorney Morris Dees from an assassination attempt on Dees’ life. Matthews says he refused protection by the feds and instead talks to adults and children about what methods these groups use to entice people like hate music, books, and friendship.
